For his played conference, Laurent d’Ursel respects the rules of art: alternating “cold knowledge” and “warm knowledge”, in the most lively and pedagogical way possible, perhaps even in a humorous way (despite the seriousness of the subject).
The “cold knowledge”: 1) the proven non-fatality of homelessness, 2) the 17 necessary words to get rid of homelessness, 3) the 4 pillars of persistent homelessness and 4) the political program of the Union of Giants* (of which he is the political secretary).
The “warm knowledge” : 1) the misdiagnosis that led to the creation of the non-profit organization DoucheFLUX at the end of 2011, 2) his slow awareness of all the aspects related to homelessness thanks to the 3-hour weekly meeting of the Union of Giants for 5 years (holidays and vacations included) 3) his slow awareness, as a landlord, of the very problematic and specific nature of all rentals and, as a result, his foundation of the BaDALa movement (les Bailleurs-Acteurs du Droit au Logement Abordable), and, by extension, the launch, in early 2025, of the movement « Le désordre des architects”.
It is thus with this quadriple cap (DoucheFLUX, Syndicat des immenses, Badala et Le Désordre des architectes) that Laurent d’Ursel gives his played conference.
He gets to the heart of the matter, spares no one, starting with himself, and ultimately calls for a paradigm shift, a revolution in thinking and a reversal of priorities.
The premiere took place on March 15, 2024 as part of the Immense Festival (2024 edition) and the conference has been given 23 times since then, improving and enriching each time.
